Those prescription drug ads are everywhere. Do they affect the doctor-patient relationship? Do doctors prescribe more because patients respond to the drug makers marketing?
Some medical professionals think the ads can raise awareness and encourage patients to seek medical treatment or cancer screening for example. Other health care providers think the drug companies are just marketing - and not educating patients about their health and medical conditions.
