6 young people have died so far from vaping – and another 500 across the country have become critically ill. And 3,500 young people start every day.
What are we doing about it? The FDA should be regulating this dangerous by design product – don’t tell me that the infusion of nicotine through this process isn’t dangerous, or it’s not addictive, or that that these companies, like Juul aren’t targeting kids. That’s total BS. There aren’t enough former smokers to convert to their product, and they’ve simply expanded the market.
The American Heart Association at least is paying attention. The surgeon general called it an epidemic. They’re warning us.
I get it, that a few years ago we didn’t “know” how harmful or dangerous these were. But now we do.
So it’s up to all of us to get the word out.
And it’s time for the FDA to act.
