After a serious accident in the D.C. area, it's probably your first time having to hire a lawyer. Here are some tips.

If you're like most people who come to us after a serious accident in the D.C. area, you've never had to hire a lawyer before - never thought you'd need to.  Here are a few things we think are helpful.

Hiring the right lawyer for your case should be all about you.

Most lawyers say the same things when they advertise - like they are aggressive, no fee if no recovery, 72 years combined experience, we fight for you - we've all seen those kinds of ads a million times.  They won't help you make the right decision for you and your family because they don't give you any information.

Focus your search for an injury or accident lawyer where it should be - on you and your family.

You can do this by getting information and answers to your questions, like how does the process work? Should I talk to the insurance adjuster? Should I use my health insurance to pay for doctor's visits?

What are the benefits of having this particular lawyer? Here's an example of what I mean:

At Donahoe Kearney, LLP we're Board Certified and we don't advertise.  So what? What does that mean for you?

It means you'll get personal attention, not be handed off to some kid out of law school, and the advice and understanding you get will be from people who have been recognized for their specific experience.

Learn more about what to do after a serious accident in D.C., Maryland or Virginia by downloading a copy of our e-book, The Ultimate Guide to Accident Cases in the DMV.  It should help you get started (and will help you decide whether you even need a lawyer).

And if you need a quick answer after a serious accident, just call and we can help with that.
