Free Information on Resources for Parents of Children with Cerebral Palsy in D.C., Maryland and Virginia
Parents of special needs children know that it is a 24/7 occupation. How do you know what is out there in terms of resources for you and your child or family? Since caring for a disabled child or young adult is a full time, around-the-clock occupation, we have put together "Getting Everything Your Special Needs Child Deserves," a guide to the resources available for parents, caregivers and families with disabled or special needs children.
We wanted to make it as easy as possible for you to have a list of available resources in your area to use as a starting point in advocating for your child. There are many other opportunities, resources, and benefits available to children with special needs and their families that are not listed here.
And we're certainly not experts on raising special needs kids (or any kids for that matter). These are resource opportunities we've identified; many from parents of special needs children we have represented through our medical malpractice cases against D.C. hospitals, HMOs and doctors in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
And parents are always giving us ideas. If you know of other resources or ideas that work and could help parents and families with special needs children, please let us know. You can email ideas and resources to
